This full-year course is designed specifically for 9th grade students who found math challenging in middle school and would benefit from a supportive, skills-based approach to learning algebra. Algebra 1 Concepts serves as a bridge course, helping students strengthen their foundational math skills while gradually introducing the key concepts and problem-solving strategies necessary for success in Algebra 1.
Through a structured and consistent daily worksheet system (no textbook required), students will build confidence, develop fluency in core mathematical operations, and engage in real-world applications of algebra. The class emphasizes hands-on practice, step-by-step instruction, and frequent check-ins to ensure understanding and progress.
Students will earn 5 credits per semester, totaling 10 credits, which count toward their 30-credit math graduation requirement. This course lays the groundwork for future success in high school math while supporting learners at their current level.
