Work Experience Education
Get paid and earn high school credit? Yes, please! The Work Experience elective lets you turn your job into part of your education. You’ll gain real-world skills, build your résumé, and connect what you’re learning in class to the career world—all while earning elective credits.
Each week, we’ll meet for short, engaging class sessions where you’ll swap workplace tips with other students, explore career topics, and learn how to stand out in any job.
To join, you must already have a job and:
Be covered by your employer’s Worker’s Compensation Insurance
Have payroll taxes withheld
Work in a safe, legal, and positive environment
Maintain a valid work permit
Work at least 15 weeks per semester
You’ll find your own job, and Ms. Lisa—your Work Experience teacher—will check in with you and your employer once each semester (either in person or by email) to see how you’re doing.
This is your chance to earn credit, earn cash, and level up your career skills—all at the same time!
