Ronald Reagan Library - Operation Urgent Fury

We are excited to invite our students in Grades 5 through 10 to participate in a field trip to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum’s Reagan Leadership Center Simulation—a unique, immersive experience combining history, leadership, and critical thinking.

What to Expect

An immersive, game-based simulation centered around the 1983 U.S. rescue mission on Grenada. Participants step into the roles of President Reagan, cabinet members, military leaders, and press to make strategic decisions under pressure—all with the world watching.

Experience Highlights:

• Oval Office Module: Act as presidential advisors to decide how best to rescue the stranded American students—engage in discussions on diplomacy, ethics, and the cost of freedom.

• Military Command Decision Center: Join the planning team for “Operation Urgent Fury” aboard a simulated aircraft carrier—focus on strategy and prioritizing student safety.

• Press Room: Become a White House press correspondent—scrutinize sources, explore freedom of speech, and understand media’s impact on public opinion.

• 9:00 – 9:15 AM | Arrival

• 9:15 – 9:45 AM | Tour of Air Force One Pavilion

• 9:45 – 10:15 AM | Pre-Briefing Session

• 10:15 – 11:15 AM | Reagan Leadership Simulation

Important Information for Parents

• Parents are not able to participate with their child in this field trip experience.

• Parents should park in the Visitor Parking Lot. Reagan Leadership Center educators will meet our group on the path to the main entrance.

• Parents who plan to stay on-site must purchase their own admission ticket and will need to self-guide the museum separately. They will not be able to join the student field trip group.

Required Parent Information Meeting

Because the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library has strict field trip protocols, there will be a mandatory virtual informational meeting prior to the trip. This meeting will review all required guidelines, explain drop-off and pick-up procedures at the entrance, and answer any family questions.
