Light, Science, and Magic: Experiments in Photography (Westlake)

We'll explore how light can be diffused, reflected, and refracted. We'll make photographs without cameras, we'll even make cameras that don't make photographs, and we'll even make a camera that you can walk into. Make your own photosensitive papers, create "photograms" with the sun and use safe and common household ingredients like instant coffee, vitamin C tablets, and salt to create photo developers. Learn a lot about light, a little about chemistry, and end the workshop with several unique photographic pieces of art - all being made by hand, without modern cameras!
